By the end of the deadline for 53-player casts, the New England Patriots has said it will only have two quarterbacks next season.
Reserve by Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo, Jacoby Brissett has been traded to the Indianapolis Colts, who will send receiver Phillip Dorsett to Foxborough.
The deal may indicate a bigger Colts concern over Andrew Luck’s physical condition. The Indianapolis 12 shirt will not be on the field against the Rams in Los Angeles at the regular season opener. The reserve, Scott Tolzien, does not inspire confidence.
While Brady was suspended last season, Brissett had a chance to start in two games as Garoppolo injured in the second week against the Dolphins. The quarterback threw for 400 yards, without touchdowns or interceptions, but ran once to the endzone, against the Texans.
Brissett only had a pre-season performance just last week. in the loss to the New York Giants, he had four passes to touchdown and scored a run, accumulating 341 yards and with an interception, which was returned to TD.
Phillip Dorsett was the Colts’ first-round pick in the 2015 draft, but the player did not convince the first two years in the league. He can fill a vacant berth for the Patriots, opened with the bruise of Julian Edelman, who is out of season.
